Classes Offered

The Young Musicians Academy classes are intended to provide children with a breadth of music experience, laying the foundation for a lifetime of music learning. Children are involved in the study of music as they explore tone color (timbre), steady pulse (beat), long and short sounds (rhythm), high and low sounds (pitch), patterns of sound (form), and loud and soft sounds (dynamics). Participants will sing, move, listen, create, and play instruments during each class through unstructured exploration time and teacher-led circle time. Materials will be provided to extend music-making from class to the home.
